Volume 2 is the second paper in a three part series. Under the title What factors influence access to community-based treatment of severe acute malnutrition? It explores the key barriers affecting coverage and tries to provide a more “human” perspective on the subject.
It examines over 40 coverage assessments carried out by the Coverage Monitoring Network (CMN) in over 20 countries to identify common barriers to access and understand how these vary according to programmes and contexts. The public health literature was also reviewed to determine whether these barriers were unique to SAM treatment services. This volume also incorporates findings from three country case studies in Ethiopia, Kenya and Pakistan, designed to provide complementary qualitative data.
The next and final volume of this series is already being produce and we expect to have it ready for January 2014
